We are a family of 5 and and live in Northern Virginia.  We (I) like to do projects around the house, inside and outside.  My loving supportive wife is so great about letting me “get away” and work on my projects.  I have a list a mile long but usually base my current project on time and budget.  When my wife and I got married, I did not own a single tool.  Over the years I have added to my collection and my skill level has risen.  My best advice is to just do it.  If something does not work, rip it up and start again.  Life is a learning process.  I have been asked by friends and family how I have done certain projects so I decided to blog about them.  I have done many projects already that I hope to post on this site soon.

I love this idea and your home looks amazing! My am very interested in doing this although I have no idea where to start. How did you know how many planks (plywood) to install and buy? Also, my husband was curious what you are nailing the plywood planks into. We are wanting to rip up our carpet and do this as well. Any advice and direction would be great! Thank you!

We measured the floor space and then bought enough sheets to cover it. ALWAYS buy at least 10% more than you need in case of mistake AND in the future you need to replace a ruined piece you have left overs that will match exactly. Make sure you finish and stain the extra at the same time
